A credentialed yoga therapist, Marja Lankinen graduated from Loyola Marymount University's Yoga Therapy Rx program. She also holds her five hundred hour yoga certification though Annie Carpenter's SmartFlow Yoga, has mentored under SmartFlow master teacher, Tiffany Russo, and assisted Annie Carpenter's SmartFlow 200 hour teacher training in Oakland, California and Udaya Yoga Festival in Bulgaria. A lifelong student, Marja has continued her education with Hala Khouri and Kara Haglund's YogaWorks Trauma-Informed Yoga training, Dr. Eden Goldman's STAMPY (Soft Tissue Assessment and Myofascial Release for Bodyworkers and Yoga Teachers) workshop, Healer Training I-IV with David Elliot, Reiki Master Training with Racquel Tristan, Yoga Tune Up with Laurel Beversdorf and Elizabeth Wipff at YogaWorks SoHo NYC, Biomechanics with Jules Mitchell, and Power, Yin Yoga and Hot Power Fusion with Corepower Yoga. For continued edification, Marja shadows physical therapist, Karen Moran, of Fusion Arts Physical Therapy while preparing for a PhD program in physical therapy. Marja co-led Hot 8 Yoga Beverly Hills' 200 hour yoga teacher trainings from 2014-2017 along with Hot 8 Yoga's first yoga retreat with Omar Lopez in Tulum, Mexico in 2014.
Marja is also the founder and CEO of Yoga for Dancers and specializes in therapeutics and injury prevention techniques for professional dancers at Movement Lifestyle Dance Studio, Millennium Dance Complex, for the Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio's scholarship program, and with choreographer, Gigi Torres, and her Establish Your Empire dance training program. Marja has been a guest teacher for Coachella Valley Music and Art Festival, Gothenburg Opera Dance Company (Sweden), Hubbard Street Dance Chicago's summer intensive at the University of Southern California (2016-2018), Complexions Contemporary Ballet's summer intensive at USC (2018), USC Kaufman School of Dance, USC Trojan Force dance team, Edge Performing Arts Center, The Pulse On Tour Dance Convention, Velocity Dance Convention, Diavolo Dance Company, Jacob Jonas Dance Company, Kaba Modern Dance Company, Culture Shock LA Dance Company, Tony Tzar's Blacklight Society, After School Matters Hip Hop Dance and Culture Ensemble (Chicago), and lululemon Cannes, Paris, Zurich, Amsterdam, Covent Garden, Chicago, New York, and Atlanta.
