Cassie S

Cassie was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. She ventured to Southern California to attend college, graduating from Chapman University with a degree in PR/Advertising & Communications. Subsequently graduating from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising with a degree in Apparel Manufacturing. She is founder and designer of bluDemocracy, a sustainable clothing line made entirely from Bamboo.

Cassie is passionate about educating and empowering individuals to take control of their own health from the inside out. She encourages people to raise their vibration through self-awareness, conscious movement, and plant food nutrition. She is founder of The Modern Farmacy, an Urban Farm and Juice Company, advocating for sustainable, healthy, and vibrant lifestyles.

Her devotion to health and wellness, stems from her background as a competitive athlete. Her history as a runner, dancer, and World Champion Equestrian has given her a deep appreciation & fascination for health, fitness, and the human body.

While studying abroad during college, Cassie experienced her introduction to yoga at a retreat in India. However, it was not until a series of horseback riding injuries that she turned to yoga to heal and restore her body in order to continue her competitive riding career. As she became more committed to her practice, she realized the benefits went far beyond just the physical. Through yoga Cassie found a connection between mind, body, and spirit that has helped her heal, grow, and transform on and off her mat.

From the first day she stepped foot in Hot 8 Yoga, practicing in the heat has been part of her daily routine. She fell in love with Hot Yoga Barre, as it helped her regain strength and flexibility to her spine following her serious injuries. With an interest in deepening her practice, she signed up for the Yoga Barre teacher training with Nancy Norby in February 2015. This was a life changing experience, prompting an intense desire to learn more and sign up for the Hot Power Fusion Teacher Training in June 2015 with Deanna Ainsworth.

Cassie’s journey thus far with the Hot 8 Yoga community has been incredibly fulfilling. She aims to share her passion and with gratitude for the practice to inspire other yogis.
