Deborah Cohen, a fitness enthusiast, cannot remember a time in her life when she wasn’t participating in some sort of athletic activity. It wasn’t until college though that she began her journey into yoga. Yoga gave her something that other sports didn’t offer. It gave her a healthy balance, as it helped her deal with the regular stressors of everyday life in a non-competitive way. It taught her to remain calm despite any difficulty and to be patient with herself, while also improving her flexibility and mind-body awareness (duh!).

So with a love of children and enthusiasm for fitness, it was only a matter of time till she began to share her passion of yoga with kids. Deborah received her children's yoga certification in 2008 at Karma Kids (NYC). She continued teaching kids’ yoga while completing both her 200 and 300hr study through YogaWorks (NYC).

She loved being a part of the yoga world, but felt like something was missing. In 2012 she moved to LA and started taking Yoga sculpt. And just like that, she knew she had finally found her “yoga calling” (cheesy, but true).

Yoga sculpt provided the best of both worlds, as it toned not only her body, but also her mind. She found that it gave her an inner strength that she had been yearning for. It made her feel powerful, like she could conquer any obstacles that came her way. And once she had this feeling, she knew she had to share it with others. She was trained in Yoga sculpt in the spring of 2014 and hasn’t looked back since.

When I first started my yoga journey, I never thought I would become a yoga teacher. After a while though, I started to ask myself, why not? For me, when I love something so much, I naturally want to share it with others. So now I do. Now I get to share my passion for yoga with people of all ages on a daily basis, and I am so honored to have this opportunity.

  • This high-intensity, vinyasa-style flow class incorporates small hand weights and cardio to burn fat and build lean muscle mass. This power-up session builds strength, stamina, and flexibility. Free weights serve as your own personal adjuster as you move through Sun Salutations in a vinyasa-style class, enabling extra length and depth in each pose. Designed for intermediate levels in a room heated to 100-105 degrees.
