How Teacher Training Changes Lives!

How Teacher Training Changes Lives!

I finally decided to go for it. After going back and forth about it for a long time, I finally decided to sign up for teacher training at Hot 8 Yoga. I had no idea what to expect, I had no idea if I even wanted to teach, but I knew that it was time and that I was ready.

The first thing I noticed from being in training was how much deeper I got into my practice. I was able to understand things about the way my body moved. Every posture we broke down had a purpose, and had multiple benefits. I was able to then practice in a smarter and safer way. And I was always so excited to take class because I couldn’t wait to physically apply what I learned!

Beyond everything I learned while in training, which was so much, I made such deep connections with my fellow trainees and my training leads. We met outside of training to practice teaching, we took class together, and we supported one another. I think that had to be the most special part about training at Hot 8. Not everyone in the training had the intention of teaching. However, a group of people with all different yoga backgrounds were still able to come together to experience this journey we were all on as one solid unit.

Training at Hot 8 Yoga has giving me the kind of confidence I never knew I had. It helped me find my voice. But most of all, because of teacher training, I know this is what I want to do. When my training came to a close, I wanted more. I wanted to keep learning, keep growing. In just a few short days, I will be venturing into my second teacher training and I couldn’t be more excited. I know I’ve just scratched the surface with what I know now. And I also know that the practice of yoga will be a lifelong journey for me. I will always be grateful that yoga found me.

6 Ways to Stay Motivated!

It’s the new year and you’ve set some amazing goals for yourself! If you need some guidance on how to stay on track, here are 6 things you can do every day to help you stick to your goals.

1.     Involve Others:

You are accountable for yourself and your goals. However, by involving others around you in what you are reaching towards, this can keep you engaged and active. There is always more motivation in groups!

2. Visualize the Rewards:

Sometimes reaching towards your goals may become difficult. If you keep visualizing the progress you intend to make or the path ahead of you, you can motivate yourself and your mind.

3. Break Down Your Goals

By breaking down your goals into smaller sections or steps, that progress you set yourself will seem more attainable. You may also find yourself able to stick to your goals longer if you have a clear path in mind.

4. Reward Yourself

Take comfort in the smaller victories. Even small progress is fantastic progress.

5. Measure Your Progress

Find small ways to measure your progress. It can be daunting looking at the bigger picture of your goals. However, if you measure your progress along the way and look back at how far you’ve come, you will stay motivated and continue your path.

6. Believe in the Possibilities

Believe in yourself! Believe in what you can achieve and how far you can go. Your goals can remain in sight if you truly believe you can reach them!
