In the beginning of 2013, I realized I was at my heaviest at over 350 pounds and wanted to make a change. At first, I started by changing my eating habits, but saw minor results. In the late Summer of 2013, a co-worker of mine, Jen Callahan, told me about Hot 8 and how she was able to see some amazing results in terms of strength and stamina. I was skeptical that it would work anywhere near as well for me but thought I’d give it a shot. I went to the first workout and it wiped me out like no other workout I had ever been through. I signed up for the 30 day trial and continued to get my butt kicked going a couple times a week. About a year later, I usually go to Hot 8 six days a week on average. I have lost well over 100 pounds and feel like I am in the best shape I’ve been in well over 10 years. Changing my habits helped but the workouts at Hot 8 really allowed me to see results. Everyone at Hot 8 has been incredibly supportive and encouraging. I was embarrassed to show up in the shape I was in initially but I was always treated very well. I am incredibly grateful to Omar Lopez, Cornelius Jones Jr., and Marja Lankinen whose classes I regularly attend and whose encouragement has been extremely helpful as well as Jen for allowing me to find a workout routine which I feel has truly changed my life.
